Alex Michelsen vs Alejandro Davidovich Fokina prediction
Alex Michelsen came from a set down to beat Grigor Dimitrov and book his place in the next round of the Dallas Open. The American was broken when serving to stay in the first set, but he did not even concede a break point in set two as he levelled the match up after breaking Dimitrov in the seventh game. A crucial moment at the start of the third saw Michelsen save three break points when down 0-40 on his serve, with Dimitrov leading 1-0. He then broke to love in the fifth game and went on to seal a 5-7 6-4 6-4 win.
He takes on Alejandro Davidovich Fokina next. The Spaniard advanced after a battling straight sets win over Zachary Svajda. The world number 14 broke in the first game of the match and that proved to be the difference in the first set. Both players exchanged breaks at the start of the second set. Svajda, who has just won a Challenger title in San Diego, applied pressure in the late stages of the set and earned a set point at 6-5 up on Davidovich Fokina’s serve. However, he saved it and dominated the tiebreak to win 6-4 7-6 (1).
Michelsen is a threat indoors, but Davidovich Fokina should be able to get on top of the rallies when they are extended.
