Alex de Minaur vs Jurij Rodionov prediction
It was a productive Asian swing for Alex de Minaur but he will likely be frustrated at having not gone further at the Shanghai Masters. In Beijing, the Australian performed well as he reached the last four and was very competitive against world number two Jannik Sinner, losing in three sets. De Minaur then made it through to the quarters in Shanghai but his wait for a Masters title continued after a straight sets loss to Daniil Medvedev.
He now faces lucky loser Jurij Rodionov in the first-round of the Vienna Open. Rodionov failed to qualify after a defeat in qualifying but still enters the main draw. The world number 155 mostly competes on the Challenger Tour and has one title to his name this season.
Surprisingly, Rodionov leads the head-to-head 1-0 after defeating De Minaur in Stuttgart four years ago. Nevertheless, the Australian is likely to set the record straight with a victory of his own here.
Alex de Minaur vs Jurij Rodionov tip: Alex de Minaur to win 2-0
