Alex de Minaur vs Botic van de Zandschulp prediction

Alex de Minaur reached his fifth quarter-final in a row at the Rotterdam Open after beating three-time Grand Slam champion Stan Wawrinka in straight sets. The Australian established an early lead but Wawrinka did fight back with a break of his own at 4-3 down in the first set. Nevertheless, De Minaur broke in the very next service game and served it out to take the lead. Two more breaks were secured in the second as the two-time finalist wrapped up a 6-4 6-2 win.

He faces Botic van de Zandschulp next. The Dutchman picked up a strong win in the previous round as he beat former world number three Stefanos Tsitsipas for the first time. Tsitsipas, the 2022 finalist, broke to go 2-0 up at the start of the match, but that would be the only time he broke serve in the match as Van de Zandschulp wrestled back the momentum and kept his composure to win 6-4 7-6 (4).

De Minaur leads the head-to-head 3-0 and 1-0 indoors. He has dropped just the one set against the Dutchman across those three matches. The court conditions suit the world number eight’s biggest strengths, and he remains one of the favourites for the title.
