Aleksander Vukic vs Pedro Martinez prediction
Aleksander Vukic began his summer hard court swing in Los Cabos, where he lost in the first-round to Emilio Nava. He managed to pick up a victory in Washington, beating big serving Giovanni Mpetshi Perricard in three sets. However, he was no match for Taylor Fritz in round two, losing 6-3 6-2. Vukic is performing better than he did in the earlier part of the year, which saw him lose 11 matches in a row, but he only has two victories on a hard court since his run to the third-round of the Australian Open in January.
Pedro Martinez reached the third-round of Wimbledon for just the second time in his career, before losing heavily to world number one and eventual winner Jannik Sinner. Martinez took a break and then competed in Kitzbuhel last week, losing 6-2 6-2 to Jan-Lennard Struff. Apart from his two victories at SW19, the Spaniard has struggled to perform consistently since his semi-final appearance in Buenos Aires during the winter.
Martinez leads the head-to-head 2-0 and 1-0 on hard court. He defeated Vukic in the second-round of the Chengdu Open last year. The two players have lost a combined total of 46 matches this season and there is no clear favourite.
