Aleksandar Vukic will hope to take advantage of Gael Monfils’ withdrawal in Cincinnati.

The Aussie lost in the second round of qualifying but now the world number 99 meets his fourth American opponent in a row in the shape of Nishesh Basavareddy. 

The 20-year-old wildcard sits 11 places below Vukic and recently picked up his first tour-level win since January in Los Cabos. 

The 29-year-old Aussie has the edge in terms of experience and appears to be over a torrid start to the year. 

Basavareddy is certainly one to keep an eye on as an up-and-comer and may well rise to the occasion in front of a home crowd.

Whoever wins the first set is likely to go on and win this and we like Vukic in this one.
