Aleksandar Kovacevic vs Matteo Berrettini prediction

Aleksandar Kovacevic failed to qualify for the Japan Open last time out, losing to Jaume Munar. He also lost his opening match in Chengdu to Lloyd Harris. Kovacevic is without a tour-level victory since the Winston-Salem Open at the end of August, where he beat former world number three Stefanos Tsitsipas in round three. He has advanced to two semi-finals on the ATP Tour in 2026, but his ranking has now dropped to outside the world’s top 80.

He goes up against Matteo Berrettini in the first-round of the Shanghai Masters. The Italian produced a strong display in the first-round in Tokyo after coming from a set down to beat Alejandro Davidovich Fokina. However, he would go no further after a loss to Adolfo Daniel Vallejo. Berrettini’s most impressive result of the campaign was his run to the last eight at Roland Garros, though he was forced to retire in that match against Matteo Arnaldi.
