Aleksandar Kovacevic vs Filip Misolic prediction

Aleksandar Kovacevic enjoyed a strong start to his North American hard court summer swing as he reached the final in Los Cabos. This included a fine win in the semi-finals over Andrey Rublev, but the American was uncompetitive against Denis Shapovalov as he lost in straight sets. However, his form has dropped off since then, as he has lost three of his last four matches and was dumped out in the first-round of both the Canadian Open and Cincinnati. 

Filip Misolic featured in his first hard court event since February last week on the Challenger Tour in Sumter. He beat James Kent Trotter but then lost to Shintaro Mochizuki in three sets. The Hungarian does have two Challenger titles to his name this season, along with a final appearance but they were all on clay. 

Kovacevic may not be in the best of form, but he has reached two finals on the ATP Tour this season and is far more comfortable on hard courts compared to his opponent. He will be the favourite to defeat Misolic in the first-round here.
