Alejandro Davidovich Fokina extended his winning run to seven matches as he powered past Fabian Marozsan to reach the third-round at Wimbledon for the third time in his career. The Spaniard won his first tour-level title at the Mallorca Championships last week, and this was a rematch of the semi-final which saw Davidovich Fokina come from a set down to win. The 26-year-old enjoyed a far more comfortable match this time around, as he won 6-3 6-0 6-3.
He will now play Marton Fucsovics. The Hungarian came from a set down to beat Learner Tien in the second-round. The 20-year-old seemed to be struggling physically at times during the match, but Fucsovics improved his level after a tough start to win 6-7 (6) 6-4 7-6 (4) 6-3. He is a former quarter-finalist at Wimbledon, achieving the feat in 2021.
Davidovich Fokina is playing some of his best tennis in a long while and is worth backing in this matchup.
