Alejandro Davidovich Fokina will be seeking a pre-French Open boost in Hamburg. 

The Spaniard started the European clay swing in style, reaching the last four in Monte Carlo and the quarter finals in Barcelona.

However, the world number 26 has only won one match since, losing his last two. 

Foki will therefore look to avoid a negative streak when he meets the evergreen Gael Monfils.

The Frenchman hasn’t quite found rhythm on clay yet after he followed up an early loss in Monte Carlo by withdrawing in Madrid. 

La Monf lost his only previous meeting with Davidovich Fokina and given that he hasn’t played for a few weeks, it could be the ideal time for the Spaniard to get himself back on track.
