Alejandro Davidovich Fokina vs Alexander Zverev prediction
Alejandro Davidovich Fokina continued his strong form as he defeated Arthur Cazaux in straight sets to get through to the round-of-16. He didn’t lose his serve and won 82% of his first serve points, coming through to defeat the Frenchman 7-6 6-4. He now has six wins from his last seven matches after getting through to the final of the Swiss Indoors in Basel last week.
He now faces defending champion and world number three Alexander Zverev in the next round. Zverev only just squeezed past Camilo Ugo Carabelli to start the defence of his title. He dominated the second set after losing the first but still required a break of serve right at the end of the decider to win 6-7 6-1 7-5.
Zverev leads the head-to-head 4-1 and 1-0 indoors. Their last match was in Madrid this year, with the German winning a tight match 3-6 7-6 7-6. This has the potential to be another close match, especially with how well Davidovich Fokina has been performing. Zverev will need to readjust his game and be aggressive if he is to get the job done.
