The Aussie lost a tight encounter in Cincinnati to the Dane back in the summer, but came out on the right end of a decider this time as she beat the sixth seed 1-6 7-6 6-3. 

The world number 104 will now meet fellow qualifier Zeynep Sonmez after the Turk battled to a 2-6 7-6 6-3 victory over Aliaksandra Sasnovich. 

Sonmez is ranked way above the Aussie at present at 76 in the world, but if Tomljanovic continues to hit her spots with risk-reward tennis, she’s worth a bet on securing the win.
