THE PREDICTION
Western Bulldogs have taken the long route to the AFL Grand Final but
they have done so in style and they will look to make their appearance
count having advanced to the showpiece event despite finishing fifth on
the ladder. They lost their last three games of the regular season which
resulted in them being edged out of the top four but they have
responded superbly to that with three straight wins, the latter of which
saw them hammer Port Adelaide to secure their place in the Grand Final.
Melbourne have had things a lot easier with the minor premiers just
needing two wins to book their spot in Perth. The Demons come into this
on the back of a six-match winning streak and they too were able to
progress to the final with a thumping victory over Geelong Cats. There
is little to split the pair having each won a game apiece in their
clashes so far this season but the Demons’ form is hard to ignore and
while the Bulldogs can push them close, the Melbourne side are just
preferred to get the job done here.
