Brisbane Lions lost for the third time in four matches to begin the season as they were beaten by Western Bulldogs last week. Essendon arrive with the same 1-3 record as the hosts having lost out in a thrilling contest with Sydney Swans last week. The Bombers were very impressive in their win over St. Kilda in their previous outing and were almost able to build on in against the Swans and while they fell short in that game, they can push the Lions close here and are tipped with the benefit of a +24.5 start on the handicap.
