Adrian Mannarino made it through to his first semi-final in two years after coming from a set down to beat fellow countryman Arthur Gea. Mannarino was not broken on serve in sets two or three as he won 5-7 6-4 6-4. The veteran was on an eight match losing run before this week, but he has now won three matches on the spin.
He goes up against Martin Damm next. The American qualifier beat Luca Nardi in straight sets. He won 92% of his points on first serve and wasn’t broken as he won 6-3 7-6 (8). Damm saved a set point when he was serving to stay in the second set and did so once more in a lengthy tiebreak.
Damm’s serve is likely to provide him with a number of free points, but Mannarino seems to have found his rhythm after a poor spell, and he will be hugely motivated to make a first ATP final since November 2023.
