Adrian Mannarino vs Lorenzo Sonego prediction

Adrian Mannarino’s losing run extended to three matches last time out, as he was beaten by Denis Shapovalov in the first-round of the Cincinnati Open. His North American hard court swing began with an impressive win over Learner Tien in Washington, but the veteran has been unable to pick up a victory since. He is still seeded for this tournament and received a bye in round one.

He will now face Lorenzo Sonego, after the Italian got past Pierre-Hugues Hubert in three sets. Three successive breaks were exchanged in the decider, but Sonego would go on to claim a 7-6 (4) 4-6 6-3 victory. His best result of the season remains a third-round appearance at Wimbledon last month.

Mannarino does lead the head-to-head 3-2 and 3-0 on outdoor hard court. Sonego possesses the larger weapons and could overwhelm his opponent, but Mannarino has been able to frustrate the 31-year-old in the past with his unconventional game.
