Adrian Mannarino vs Arthur Gea prediction
Adrian Mannarino picked up a brilliant win in the round-of-16 as he defeated fellow countryman Ugo Humbert to make the quarter-finals in Montpellier. Humbert took the first set on a tiebreak but Mannarino broke for the first time in the eighth game of the second and served it out to force a third. The veteran saved three match points when he was serving to stay in the match, and won 6-7 (4) 6-3 7-6 (4).
He now faces Arthur Gea. The 21-year-old advanced following another retirement as second seed Tomas Machac called it quits in the second set. Gea had taken the first set 6-3 and was trailing Machac 5-4 on serve in the second. He has now won 11 of his 12 matches this season, having won a Challenger event in Noumea and qualified for the Australian Open main draw in January.
Mannarino seems to have found form again, but Gea is quickly rising up the ranks and will be a difficult test.
