Adolfo Daniel Vallejo vs Valentin Royer prediction

Adolfo Daniel Vallejo continued his impressive season with a run from qualifying to the last eight at the Japan Open. The Paraguayan crushed Rafael Jodar in his first-round match and then backed that up with a win over Matteo Berrettini. However, he was on the end of a comprehensive loss to Jiri Lehecka in the quarter-finals. He has also won two Challenger Tour titles this season, and his ranking has now risen to a career high of 52 in the world.

He plays Valentin Royer in round one. Royer was the runner up at the Hangzhou Open last year, but he could only manage a second-round appearance in 2026 after a loss to former world number one and eventual champion Daniil Medvedev. That saw his ranking fall to outside the world’s top 100. Royer was then beaten by Botic van de Zandschulp in the first qualifying round of the China Open. 

Vallejo has enjoyed the better season and will be expected to come through with the win.
