Adam Walton booked his place in the next round of the Mallorca Championships after a straight sets win over fellow Aussie Nick Kyrgios. The 2022 Wimbledon finalist required treatment during the match but that didn’t deter Walton, as he won 6-3 6-4. He saved all six break points that he offered up on serve.
He will now play Alejandro Davidovich Fokina. The Spaniard is the second seed at this event and received a bye in the opening round. He competed at Queen’s Club last week and defeated 2021 finalist Cameron Norrie in round one, before beating Corentin Moutet to advance to the quarter-finals. However, he was unable to go further as his poor record against Tommy Paul continued, with the American prevailing in straight sets.
