Abdullah Shelbayh pulled off an upset in the first-round as he defeated 2025 finalist Corentin Moutet in straight sets. The lucky loser from Jordan held his nerve at the key moments to seal a 7-5 6-4 win. He will now face 2017 World Tour Finals champion Grigor Dimitrov for a place in the quarter-finals.

The Bulgarian notched up his 50th tour-level win on grass in round one as he breezed past Marc Polmans. Dimitrov did not face a break point and made a fast start to the match, coming through to win 6-1 7-6 (3). He did compete on the Challenger Tour in Dublin last week, losing in the quarter-finals. This was his first victory on the ATP Tour since March.
