The 28-year-oild had suggested she would take a break from tennis after suffering a third-consecutive first round exit at a Grand Slam in New York last month but she seems intent on seeing out the year now with WTA Finals qualification a pipe dream. Despite her recent struggles, Sakkari should have more than enough to beat world number 157 Storm Hunter in straight sets in this first meeting between the two. 29-year-old Hunter beat Iryna Shymanovich in two on Monday to claim a rare tour win at this level but she has plenty more stock as the top seed in doubles alongside Elise Mertens this week.
