Former world number nine Roberto Bautista Agut reached the round of 16 here last season, also losing to Paul in four sets, but he has struggled with both fitness and form practically ever since. The 35-year-old is too good to stay at his current ranking of 51st but he has been handed a tough, thankless task here against a charismatic youngster who will enjoy the majority of the support.
