World number 35 Petra Martic reached the third round at Wimbledon last month and played competitively against Iga Swiatek before a straight sets defeat. The 32-year-old has been reasonably steady this season and she is always a danger to players outside the top 10 with plenty of disruptive weapons that work across all surfaces. World number 44 Lesia Tsurenko went one step further at SW19 with a brilliant run to the round of 16, backing up a second week reached at Roland-Garros before also losing to the imperious Swiatek. The 34-year-old set a career-high WTA world ranking of 23rd back in 2019 and there is no reason why she cannot return to the top 30 at least if she can maintain this level, and more importantly fitness, in her renaissance period. This could end up a real thriller late on Tuesday but back Tsurenko to earn at least a set on her momentum from qualifying.
