World number 46 Lucia Bronzetti beat Varvara Gracheva in straight sets on Wednesday to get a foothold in at the Madrid Open but she has draw perhaps the shortest straw here. The Italian is at her best on clay, claiming her maiden WTA title on the surface in Morocco last summer, but back Rybakina to roll through to a sixth win on the spin in straight sets.
