THE PREDICTION
World number 15 Diego Schwartzman beat Francisco Cerundolo in the final of this tournament just last year in straight sets and there is little to suggest anything different in this quarter-final rematch. The second seed got past in-form Jaume Munar in two tiebreaks on Thursday for a useful warm-up but 23-year-old Cerundolo’s three-set victory over Miomir Kecmanovic in the round of 16 is a warning statement of intent ahead of this all-Argentine affair between two Buenos Aires natives. 19-year-old Schwartzman should still be coming through in straight sets but it could come closer than last season’s 6-1, 6-2 dismissal.
