The 36-year-old is currently ranked just outside the top 100 as his long career begins to wind down but he is still a serious force in the doubles alongside Simone Bolelli and the pair will be gearing up for a tilt at the Olympics later this summer. World number 144 Bernabe Zapata Miralles brings a concerning four-match losing streak into Indian Wells after failing to make any sort of dent on the South American clay swing. The 27-year-old is one of the more clay-specialised players on tour but he still stands a reasonable chance at the upset here against Fognini, who is about as likely to blast through this clash as he is to crash out.
