THE PREDICTION

World number 10 Felix Auger-Aliassime beat Manuel Guinard in straight sets on Thursday to make it five matches won on the spin after winning his second ATP title at the Firenze Open last week. The 22-year-old has beaten the likes of Carlos Alcaraz and Novak Djokovic in recent weeks but there is always the looming chance of an upset, like his second round exit to Jack Draper last month. World number 26 Dan Evans beat Auger-Aliassime to win his only ATP title at the start of last season in Melbourne but the Canadian returned the favour at the Australian Open this year to level their head-to-head record at 1-1. 32-year-old Evans is yet to drop a set this week after two solid victories over Tallon Griekspoor and Constant Lestienne but, despite his recent form, beating the Canadian at this moment in time would be his best result this season. Back Auger-Aliassime to come through outright here.
