World number 53 Clara Tauson is a serious prospect at 19 years old and well capable of a deep run at Wimbledon in this wide open WTA draw. The Dane already owns two WTA titles but after setting a career-high ranking of 33rd earlier this year she has struggled with her fitness in recent months, with her last match coming in late April in a defeat to fellow prospect Marta Kostyuk. Japanese qualifier Mai Hontama fares a decent chance at the upset here if Tauson’s fitness is still in question but in normal service the Dane could be expected to blast through here in two.
