World number 122 Tamara Korpatsch edge through to the main draw at Wimbledon as a lucky loser after defeat to rising star Mirra Andreeva in the final round of qualifying. 28-year-old Korpatsch made headlines for all the wrong reasons this time last summer after some online aggro aimed at her doubles partner Harmony Tan but she struggled on court, losing to Heather Watson. The German has lost all four of her Grand Slam appearances so far, one at each, but this looks her best opportunity to change that against world number 166 Carol Zhao, who qualified the right way last week to make her major debut. Zhao, also 28, recently grabbed a grass-court win at tour level at the Libema Open to bring better form on the surface into this first encounter but back Korpatsch to earn at least a set to leave the victor up to chance.
