THE PREDICTION

World number five Alexander Zverev was made to work for his opening win over Sebastian Ofner but the top seed remains the clear favourite to lift his third Munich Open title this weekend. The 26-year-old will be focusing all of his efforts into clay this summer as he gears up for a genuine tilt at the Roland-Garros title, having come so close before a serious injury in 2022, and a return to Paris in late July to defend his Gold Medal at the Olympic Games. Former number 17 Cristian Garin came back from a set down to eventually beat Alex Michelsen in relative comfort as he continues to build back some form on his favoured clay. The Chilean will move back inside the top 100 for his efforts this week and recently at Estoril but despite beating Zverev at this stage of the Munich Open in 2019, en-route to the title that season, this looks far too steep of a challenge now. Back Zverev to win in straight sets.

TIP: ALEXANDER ZVEREV TO WIN 2-0
