THE PREDICTION

Clermont Auvergne put a disappointing Top 14 loss to Montpellier behind them with a thumping win on the road at Challenge Cup champions Bristol Bears, ending the match on the right side of an astonishing 38-51 result to claim an important first win in Pool 2. They will be hoping to put in a more solid defensive display at home to Munster, who will put up a real fight as they have yet to taste defeat this season. Seven matches unbeaten in Conference B of the Pro14 was complemented by a comprehensive defeat of Harlequins last weekend in the Champions Cup and this promises to be a fantastic match. Given both teams’ excellence, Clermont to edge this match in a result that goes over 40 points looks safer than opting for a handicap here.
