THE PREDICTION
England avoided what could have become a potential banana skin with a 13-24 win away to Wales and became the Group A winners they seemed destined to be in doing so. Their finals opponent will be this exciting France team who thrashed a downtrodden Italy side 36-5 on Saturday to win Group B with 14 points – one more than England. Eddie Jones’ side, however, won the far harder group and barring a famous away victory for Les Bleus this prediction is about “by how many” for England in a test they will be expecting to win. Both sides have conceded just 20 points but France’s default win over Fiji muddies those numbers whereas England truly did shut-out Georgia in their first Autumn Nations Cup match. The England squad will be buzzing from the return of 2000 fans to Twickenham and should perform accordingly here. They covered -11 in both their wins against Ireland and Wales and, whilst France should contribute to the scoreline, they do leave themselves open for damage. Eddie Jones’ side can cover -15 to lift the first trophy of this new tournament and finally celebrate their Six Nations victory with the fans whilst they do so.
