Karolina Kowalkiewicz (16-7) is proof you can recover from a five-fight skid. Many fans were scratching their heads as to how she was still on the roster after getting submitted by Jessica Penne (2021). However, she has turned her career around pulling a submission out the hat against Felice Herrig (2022) and following that up with three unanimous decisions on the trot against Silvana Gomez Juarez (2022), Vanessa Demopoulos (2023) and Diana Belbita (2023).
Iasmin Lucindo (15-5) hopes to snap the streak by extending hers to three. She was riding an impressive seven-fight win streak before her UFC debut, but she ended up losing a unanimous decision to Yazmin Jauregui (2022). However, she responded with a unanimous decision of her own over Brogan Walker (2023) and then a brilliant submission over Polyana Viana (2023) at UFC on ESPN 51.
KAROLINA KOWALKIEWICZ VS IASMIN LUCINDO PREDICTION
On paper, Kowalkiewicz does not stand much chance here. She does not have knockout power, she is a worse grappler and is 16 years older than Lucindo. That said, she has the experience.
Despite the lack of power, she is the better striker and is a technician on the feet. She has a great clinch and decent takedown defence which will be crucial here.
Lucindo is dangerous and will swing wildly to close the distance in hopes of securing the takedown. She has the power and grappling to take Kowalkiewicz down and keep her there and that is what we expect to happen.
However, if Lucindo has the ego to keep the fight standing, there is value on the Pole, but this is hers to lose.
