Jack Shore (17-1) finally suffered his first loss in 2022. It took an elite wrestler in the form of Ricky Simon to inflict it who actually hurt him on the feet before wrapping up an arm-triangle. It was a valuable lesson as it did not seem to knock his confidence. He returned the following year to reel off a vintage submission over Makwan Amirkhani (2023) to get back on track.
Joanderson Brito (16-3-1) also seemed to get derailed in 2022.He outpointed Diego Lopes (2021) on the Contender Series which continues to age well, but he lost a unanimous decision to Bill Algeo (2022) on debut. However, he has looked sensational since finishing Andre Fili (2022 - TKO), Lucas Alexander (2022 - submission), Westin Wilson (2023 - knockout) and Jonathan Pearce (2023 - submission).
JACK SHORE VS JOANDERSON BRITO PREDICTION
This should be a very exciting fight and it will be interesting to see if Shore pulls off another quality performance up at featherweight. Brito is a lot stronger than Amirkhani and his explosiveness is enough to give any featherweight problems.
The Brazilian is a wild man, and he will hunt a finish by any means necessary. He defends punches with his face while throwing nuclear bombs and his strengths lay in his grappling with excellent jiu-jitsu and strong wrestling.
Shore is also a grappler by trade, and he has the ability to take Brito down. He is also a lot more technical on the feet so it will be interesting to see how he approaches this. Either way, he will have to be patient and mix his weapons together.
If Shore can weather the early storm and drag Brito into dark waters, anything can happen. However, Brito’s power and explosiveness should be too much much for Shore on the feet and in the grappling department.
