THE PREDICTION

First faces second in this top of the table showdown at Anfield. An injury-hit Liverpool were forced to settle for a point after a below par performance in their 1-1 draw vs Fulham on Sunday. Earlier in the day, Tottenham Hotspur were also held to a 1-1 draw of their own, against London rivals Crystal Palace. Jurgen Klopp’s men boast an incredibly strong record over Spurs, having won their last five matches against the North London club in all competitions. Home advantage will likely prove a key factor here, with the Reds unbeaten in their last 64 league matches at Anfield, a club record. Klopp’s men will have to be at their best defensive to deal with the in-form Spurs duo of Harry Kane and Heung-Min Son, but the Reds boast an insatiable attack of their own and that firepower should prove enough for them to breach a typically sturdy Jose Mourinho coached defence more than once. Both teams should find the net when taking into account Liverpool’s injury hit backline, but despite that the hosts may just have enough to edge what will be a hard-fought contest.
