CHELSEA
It has been a really underwhelming campaign for Chelsea but they had into the final few months with a real chance of salvaging their season. The Blues are into this EFL Cup final, as well as the fifth round of the FA Cup in midweek and they begin the weekend sitting just three points outside of the top seven and the European qualification spots.
They come into this one on the back of a 1-1 draw with Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium last weekend. Raheem Sterling scored the opening goal in that game before Rodri equalised for City late on. Chelsea have put in some genuinely very impressive performances at times this season but they have been startlingly inconsistent.
LIVERPOOL
With Jurgen Klopp having already announced his departure from Liverpool at the end of this season, The Reds are hoping to send off the German with some extra silverware to his CV. They are in with a real shout of winning four trophies this season and Sunday’s trip to Wembley represents the first opportunity to do so.
They come into this one on the back of being forced to come from behind to defeat Luton Town by four goals to one at Anfield in midweek. They were a goal down at half-time but were rampant in the second-half with goals from Virgil van Dijk, Cody Gakpo, Luis Diaz and Harvey Elliott; just a few days after they defeated Brentford by the same scoreline.

Mauricio Pochettino has several injury concerns for this weekend with the likes of Wesley Fofana, Reece James and Benoit Badiashile remaining unavailable for The Blues.
Robert Sanchez is the biggest dilemma for the former Tottenham manager with the Spaniard now back available but it is expected that Djordje Petrovic will keep his place in the Chelsea line-up.

THE PREDICTION
These two faced each other in the 2022 FA Cup and EFL Cup finals with both games finishing goalless and Liverpool eventually winning on penalties. There is something different about the make up of both sides this time around, though, with the likelihood being that neither of the teams could be boring or dull like that even if they wanted to. Liverpool thrashed Chelsea by four goals to one at Anfield last month and another Liverpool victory remains the likeliest outcome on Sunday afternoon.
