THE PREDICTION

24-year-old Elena Rybakina moved back up to world number four this week after victory at the Abu Dhabi Open on Sunday, beating Daria Kasatkina in straight sets to lift a second trophy for the season and a seventh overall. The Kazakh totally dismantled Aryna Sabalenka to win the Brisbane 500 at the start of the season but she struggled to match that intensity the next week in Adelaide and that plunge in form looked to heavily affect her poor effort at the Australian Open, where she lost to Anna Blinkova 22-20 in the longest tiebreak in Grand Slam history.

Winning in Abu Dhabi on Sunday and then playing an opener on Tuesday will be a tough challenge for Rybakina, who has been and will likely once again be, very vocal about the scheduling congestion on tour but this looks a kind enough fixture. World number 57 Lin Zhu conceded just two games to Varvara Gracheva for an eye-catching start to her Doha campaign but she has drawn perhaps the shortest straw here in Rybakina, who can be backed to extend her winning streak to five in straight sets.

TIP: ELENA RYBAKINA TO WIN 2-0
