THE PREDICTION
World number seven Alexander Zverev came back from a set down to beat a spirited Lorenzo Sonego on Saturday before a consummate victory in the deciding doubles alongside Angelique Kerber in the deciding doubles. The 26-year-old did well to work his way back from a horrific, season-ending injury suffered in the semi-finals of Roland-Garros in 2022, initially struggling last season before emulating his run in Paris and winning two ATP titles in Hamburg and Chengdu. It was a career-best year for 35-year-old Adrian Mannarino, who won three ATP titles in 2023 to bring his total up to five. The tricky left-hander has an unorthodox game that can trouble anyone on his day but a current ATP world ranking of 22nd is a little misleading when up against the likes of Zverev, who has won all eight of their previous encounters. Back Zverev to win in straight sets, as he has done in each of their last three.
