THE PREDICTION

19-year-old Erika Andreeva could break inside the top 100 for the first time after an excellent straight-sets upset over fellow Russian teenager Diana Shnaider on Sunday, backing-up a strong qualifying run. This will be a much tougher test against another compatriot, though, as in-form Ekaterina Alexandrova moved back inside the top 20 this week after finishing runner-up to Jelena Ostapenko last time out. The 29-year-old beat Viktoriya Tomova in straight sets on Sunday to look ready for a deep run here in Doha and she should be considered a dark horse over the coming months as one of only two players to have beaten Elena Rybakina this season. Andreeva can take huge confidence from her campaign so far but Alexandrova looks too assured at this moment in time to suffer an upset. Back the elder Russian to win outright, although two should do it.

TIP: EKATERINA ALEXANDROVA TO WIN
