THE PREDICTION

Leicester Tigers extended their lead at the top of the Premiership table with a close-run 20-24 victory away at rock-bottom Bath last Saturday. Saracens’ loss at London Irish a day later takes heaps of pressure off of head coach Steve Borthwick’s winning machine ahead of this tough clash at home to Gloucester, who sat last weekend out as the odd team out. Gloucester snapped a four-match winning streak two weeks ago with a damaging 24-15 defeat at Exeter but they are well capable of an upset here after proving so last month in a 24-25 smash-and-grab at Saracens. This could come closer than many expect, so backing the hosts to win outright seems a sensible move and perhaps covering -2 the reasonable risk.
