THE TEAM NEWS

CRONULLA SHARKS

  • Cronulla Sharks were superb as they caused an upset in Round 1, defeating New Zealand Warriors across the ditch and they will be confident of backing that up here.
  • The Sharks will have to cope without prop Braden Hamlin-Uele once again as he recovers from a knee injury but Dale Finucane will partake in his 250th NRL game.

CANTERBURY BULLDOGS

  • Canterbury Bulldogs were underwhelming in their opening game of the season as they were no match for Parramatta Eels and it could take some time for them to get going this season.
  • The Dogs have opted for some consistency in their team selection, rather than making wholesale changes, but they are forced into one change with Connor Tracey coming in for the injured Josh Addo-Carr who is still in with a chance of featuring having been named on the extended bench.

Starting 13: 1. Blake Taaffe 2. Blake Wilson 3. Jacob Kiraz 4. Stephen Crichton 5. Connor Tracey 6. Matt Burton 7. Drew Hutchison 8. Max King 9. Reed Mahoney 10. Poasa Faamausili 11. THE PREDICTION

Cronulla Sharks raised some eyebrows with their performance last week as they surprised New Zealand Warriors away from home. They now get the chance to build on that against a Canterbury Bulldogs outfit that looked like they will take some time to gel, owing to their new-look side. The Sharks have won the past five matchups between the two teams and there is little to suggest that they will be unable to keep that run intact here.

TIP: CRONULLA SHARKS -6
