MIKE MALOTT VS ADAM FUGITT LOWDOWN
Mike Malott (9-1-1) arrived to the UFC having finished all seven of his wins including his submission over Shimon Smotritsky (2021) on the Contender series. He has since risen to the UFC level effortlessly with two more first-round finishes – a TKO over Mickey Gall (2022) and a submission over Yohan Lainesse back in February.
Adam Fugitt (9-3) did not quite have the same entrance to the UFC. He arrived having finished four opponents for various promotions but met prospect Michael Morales (2022) for his debut. He got knocked out himself in the third round however, he has already bounced back in true Fugitt fashion by pounding out Yusaku Kinoshita (2023) with brutal elbows.
MIKE MALOTT VS ADAM FUGITT PREDICTION
This is a huge opportunity for Malott fighting high up on a pay-per-view card on home soil. It is a fun match-up as well as Fugitt is cut from a similar cloth hunting the finish whether that is a knockout or submission.
He will boast a four-inch reach advantage but what Malott lacks in range, he makes up for in power. Expect a lot of kicks from Fugitt pressing the action with Malott waiting to counter.
They both have slick jiu-jitsu especially Malott as a black belt, but we expect the majority of this to play out on the feet. With the home crowd behind him, we are backing Malott to pull off another finish.
However, there is value on Fugitt considering the odds especially if he decides to wrestle.
