MATT SEMELSBERGER VS PRESTON PARSONS LOWDOWN

Matt Semelsberger (11-6) steps in for Bassil Hafez who had to pull out. He is clearly desperate to claw a win back after losing his last two fights. He is 1-3 in his last four after losing a unanimous decision to Alex Morono (2022) before earning one back against Jake Matthews (2022). However, 2023 was a miserable year losing a split decision to Jeremiah Wells and getting knocked out by Uros Medic.

Preston Parsons (10-4) is grateful to still be on the card as he is also coming off a loss. He fell short in a split decision to Trevin Giles (2023) at UFC on ESPN 43 to drop to 1-2 in the UFC. He got knocked out by Daniel Rodriguez (2021) on his debut and earnt a unanimous decision over Evan Elder (2022) almost a year later.

MATT SEMELSBERGER VS PRESTON PARSONS PREDICTION

Semelsberger steps in on short notice, but he will be confident that he will be the third man to knock Parsons out. He is the better striker and hits like a truck. He just has to be able to defend the takedowns to give himself the opportunity to find the chin.

Parsons is a grinder and he will call upon his wrestling to take Semelsberger down, subdue him and work on a submission. Despite having little time to prepare, Semelsberger is the favourite and we understand why.

He has good cardio and takedown defence and only needs one clean hit to swing the fight in his favour. However, we feel Parsons has the ability to take the fight to the floor and earn enough control time to sway the judges or even wrap up a submission.

Prediction: Parsons via Decision

Value Bet: Parsons to win
