THE TEAM NEWS

NOTTINGHAMSHIRE OUTLAWS

Coach: Peter Moores

Captain: Dan Christian

  • The Outlaws sit in third spot in the North Group but were hugely disappointing in their last match on Tuesday at home against Durham where they lost by 34 runs and were bowled out for 150 despite Wessels and Mullaney getting them off to a great start with 67 from the first 4.5 overs.

  • Complacency may have creeped in for that match and coach Peter Moores will knock that out of the squad for this game despite there being no major changes to the personnel available for this match.

  • The biggest weakness on Tuesday was a fragile middle order and they cannot continue to rely on Christian to save them so the likes of Moores, Patel and Root really have to raise their game against a team that they have already beaten this season.

LEICESTERSHIRE FOXES

Coach: Paul Nixon

Captain: Colin Ackermann

  • The Foxes come off a hugely disappointing loss to the Lancashire Lightning on Wednesday as they suffered a batting collapse as they batted first going from 88/1 after 9.3 overs to 142 all out and were comfortably beaten to lose their third match in five games.

  • That batting performance was in stark contract to their previous one where they hit 229/5 against the Bears and Raine smashed a quickfire hundred but he was out for a duck against the Lightning, so they will have to regain some of that form here.

  • Despite that defeat, it is unlikely they will make any major changes to the team but they really need more from their key men like Ackermann, Nabi and Raine who did not have the best of performances in midweek.

THE PREDICTION

These two sides are coming off hugely disappointing defeats in midweek and there is pressure on them to bounce back here. The Outlaws arguably had complacency to blame for their loss, while the Foxes were not on their game against Lancs and both deservedly lost. The greater urgency is with the Foxes but Notts have beaten them once already this season and have the edge in quality to bounce back with the win here.
