  • Currently on four goals in five appearances, Real Madrid’s Cristiano Ronaldo – the all-time leading goalscorer in the competition – has scored more UCL final goals than any other player, and will have the chance to extend that record this weekend.
  • Ronaldo is also the only player to have scored in three separate UCL finals – 2008 (Manchester United), 2014 and 2017 (both Real Madrid).
  • Despite being a centre-back, Ronaldo’s Los Blancos teammate Sergio Ramos is joint-second on the list with two goals - both of which came against cross-town rivals Atletico Madrid in separate finals.

Below is a list of all 70 UCL final goals sorted by the nationality of the scorer:

  • Players from 20 different nations have scored a goal in a UCL final.
  • Given their domination of European football in recent times, it is not surprising to see that 11 of the 70 goals (15.7%) have been scored by Spanish players.
  • This year, Sadio Mane could become the first player from Senegal to score in a UCL or ECCC final.
  • Similarly, Mohamed Salah could become the first player from Egypt to score in a UCL or ECCC final.
