Celtic have won this competition once – 1967.
This is the third meeting between the two clubs, with PSG winning both their previous encounters in the 1995/96 Cup Winners Cup.
This is Celtic’s second consecutive appearance in the group stages after falling short at the play-off rounds in both the 2014/15 and 2015/16 seasons.
This is a sixth straight qualification for PSG, but in that time they have never progressed beyond the quarter-finals.
Last season they only made it as far as the round of 16, as they were on the wrong side of arguably the greatest comeback in Champions League history when Barcelona earned a dramatic 6-1 victory over PSG at the Nou Camp after losing the first leg 4-0.
PSG do now have the man who was instrumental in that comeback at their disposal as Neymar is set to make his Champions League bow for his new employers.
Celtic have had to already play six matches just to get to this stage of the competition; they have already disposed of Linfield (Northern Ireland), Rosenborg (Norway) and FC Astana (Kazakhstan).
Celtic conceded 16 goals in the group stage last season – an average of 2.66 per game, whilst PSG scored 13 goals in the group stage last season – an average of 2.16 per game.
