THE PREDICTION

This is a fantastic opportunity for either of 19-year-old Juan Manuel Cerundolo or 28-year-old Federico Coria to reach a first ATP final, especially the former as he is playing in his first tour-level tournament. The world number 335 looks set to shoot up the rankings no matter the result here and could be one to watch for the future as a lithe left-hander with a clear determination to succeed on the tour. World number 95 Coria has beaten two seeds en-route to his first ever semi-final on tour two with a particularly impressive win over Benoit Paire on Friday and he should be the player to win this first meeting. However, rankings and experience aside this would not be the first time we have seen a debutant race all the way to the final and the young Argentine’s defeats of Miomir Kecmonovic and Thiago Monteiro in his previous two rounds shows he has what it takes to beat the elder Argentine Coria here. Both players to take a set in a win for Cerundolo looks on as a not-so shocking upset.
