Who won the last meeting between Borna Coric vs Juan Ignacio Londero? N/A

  • Having kicked off 2020 with a shock win over Dominic Thiem at the ATP Cup, Borna Coric has gone on to lose his next four matches including a first round exit at the Argentina Open last week.
  • 23-year-old Coric has plenty of time left in his career to live up to his early hype but his lack of any real consistency is quite a concern, though he remains highly ranked at world number 32.
  • One of the Croatian’s two titles came on clay, in Marrakech back in 2017, but he is several levels away from challenging here in his current form having not taken a set this year since his first match against Thiem.

  • Juan Ignacio Londero came close to reaching the final of the Argentina Open in his native country last time out but lost in the semi-finals to eventual champion Casper Ruud, having taken the first set.
  • Londero beat the likes of current Argentinian number two Guido Pella and the Argentina Open reigning champion Laslo Djere on his way to the semis and like many South American players is most at home on the clay surface.
  • The 26-year-old won his only ATP tour title to date on clay at the Cordoba Open last year and his round of 16 placing at Roland-Garros is his best Grand Slam record by some way.

Rankings go out the window here in this match-up between an experienced clay-court performer in Juan Ignacio Londero and world number 32 Borna Coric, who cannot seem to buy a win. His loss to Thiago Monteiro, a Brazilian admittedly in some form, last week at the Argentina Open speaks volumes for how this match should end against Londero, who lost out to the champion at that same tournament. The Argentine should come through this first match and could have another decent run here on the back of it.
