THE PREDICTION

Andy Murray’s conqueror Stan Wawrinka takes on a player in the form of his life in the second round in what promises to be a closely-fought encounter. Koepfer came through the qualifiers at the recent Italian Open to surprisingly reach the quarter-finals before losing in a close match to world number one Novak Djokovic so the German will certainly not fear the three-time Grand Slam champion here. The manner of Wawrinka’s win over Murray was highly impressive though, and the colder conditions in Paris are somewhat beneficial to his hard-hitting game. There should be plenty of winner from both players here and the winner may well come down to who shows the greater consistency. It is likely to swing back and forth and a five-setter is certainly not out of the question so the Total Sets market is one to look at. Otherwise, Koepfer is capable of upsetting the Swiss and could be worth a punt.
