THE PREDICTION

Benoit Paire has been making plenty of headlines recently but not for his tennis as much of the focus has been around the fact he was allowed to play in the Hamburg Open (where he retired due to feeling unwell) despite two positive tests for COVID-19. On the court though, the Frenchman has struggled in the post-lockdown period but delivered a much-improved performance in his 7-6, 6-4, 6-4 win over Kwon Soon-woo in the first round so there are signs that he is rediscovering his game. Federico Coria is his next opponent with the Argentine having recently broken into the top 100 for the first time in his career. He edged three tight sets with Jason Jung in the first round on Sunday but he runs into a man here who looked rejuvenated in the first round so Paire in four is the prediction.
