The Lowdown

ST HELENS

  • St. Helens' troubles away from home showed no signs of improving as they fell to defeat at Huddersfield in their rearranged game last weekend.
  • Justin Holbrook has been forced into a couple of changes with Ryan Morgan and Danny Richardson unavailable through injury, so Jake Spedding and Dominique Peyroux take their place in the squad.
  • Saints will be relieved to return to home soil, a ground where they boast an impressive record of just one loss in their last 14 Super League matches.

Head Coach: Justin Holbrook

Squad: Kyle Amor, Luke Douglas, Theo Fages, Regan Grace, Morgan Knowles, Tommy Lee, Jonny Lomax, Tommy Makinson, Louie McCarthy-Scarsbrook, Mark Percival, Dominique Peyroux, James Roby, Matty Smith, Jake Spedding, Adam Swift, Zeb Taia, Luke Thompson, Alex Walmsley, Jon Wilkin

Unavailable: Ryan Morgan (Injured), Danny Richardson (Injured)

SALFORD RED DEVILS

  • Salford were comfortable winners as they progressed to the semi-final stage of the Challenge Cup after overcoming a poor Wakefield side last weekend.
  • The Red Devils don't have many issues with their squad with just a handful of players unavailable at present. Josh Jones has been named in the 19-man squad by Ian Watson to further boost his side.
  • Salford will be hoping last weekend's cup win was a turning point after losing their two previous Super League games, with an away game potentially suiting the Red Devils who have won four of their last five away league matches.

Head Coach: Ian Watson

Squad: Jake Bibby, Kriss Brining, Todd Carney, Michael Dobson, Niall Evalds, Mark Flanagan, James Hasson, Weller Hauraki, Greg Johnson, Josh Jones, Craig Kopczak, Ryan Lannon, Rob Lui, Ben Murdoch-Masila, Gareth O'Brien, Junior Sa'u, Lama Tasi, Logan Tomkins, Kris Welham

Unavailable: Jordan Walne, Adam Walne, Lee Mossop, Olsi Krasniqi, George Griffin

Analysis - what to expect
St. Helens and Salford face off in an important game for both sides. Saints need a win to stay in touch with the top 4 and earn an extra home game for the Super 8s. That is of particular importance for Saints who have shown to be formidable at home but struggle on their travels. Salford on the other hand will be hoping to cement their own place in the top 4 and attempt to place some pressure on league leaders Castleford. This is a game that could go either way and will depend on which Salford turn up on the night, but Saints' home form is hard to ignore.
